Digital News Subscriptions

The Munday Library provides complimentary, unlimited digital access to several of the world’s leading publications for all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. Through institutional site licenses, patrons can bypass standard paywalls and utilize the official websites and mobile applications of these news organizations.

To activate your access, you must register for an individual account with each publication using your official campus email address. Below are the step-by-step instructions and feature overviews for each resource.

The New York Times (All Access Pass)

The university provides the premium All Access Pass, granting full access to standard news reporting as well as the complete suite of specialized New York Times digital platforms.

Account Activation Steps

  1. Register through the library’s dedicated portal: http://accessnyt.com/
  2. Search for St. Edward’s University in the search box and follow the onscreen prompts to create an account. You must use your campus email address and create a secure password.
  3. Once authenticated, you may download any of the official NYT mobile applications and log in using these credentials.

Key Features

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ)

A premier global resource for business, finance, economics, and international relations. This subscription is highly beneficial for market analysis, corporate research, and career preparation.

Account Activation Steps

  1. Do not register via the standard homepage. You must activate your student subscription through the library’s unique registration link: https://WSJ.com/StEdwards
  2. On the registration page, select the appropriate account type.
  3. Use your campus email address, create a password, and complete the profile details.
  4. Download the WSJ mobile application to access content on mobile devices.

Note: If you already have a personal WSJ subscription and would like to convert it to the School-Sponsored WSJ subscription, you will need to call 1-800-JOURNAL to cancel.

The Economist

Provides deep, authoritative analysis of global politics, economics, science, and technology. This resource is highly recommended for policy research, macroeconomics courses, and international studies.

Account Activation Steps

  1. Navigate directly to the main website at economist.com.
  2. Click on Log In.
  3. On the next screen, click Register now to create a new account using your campus email address.
  4. The platform will automatically verify your university email domain and apply the institutional subscription to your new account.

Austin American-Statesman

Essential for tracking regional governance, municipal policy, Texas legislative updates, and localized socioeconomic data.

Account Activation Steps

  1. Navigate directly to the main website at statesman.com.
  2. Click Sign In in the upper right-hand corner and select the option to create a new account.
  3. Complete the registration form using your campus email address.
  4. Once the account is created, you will be fully authenticated to access all local, regional, and state-level digital coverage.

If you already have an account (free or paid subscription) tied to your campus email address, the system may not let you register.
