- In the Topic Finder, you can input keywords and the database will generate a wheel of topics relating to those keywords.
- In the subject guide search you can search by subject as well as narrow your search to publication date, peer reviewed journals, and full text articles.
- In the publication search section you can search for specific publications as well as narrow your search by date, peer reviewed journals, type of publication, etc.

- Includes nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses Association.
- Has several different language options including English, Spanish, Romanian, etc.
- You can limit your search to peer reviewed articles, full text articles, and image type (i.e., Black and White, Chart, Diagram, etc.).
- Health Research Premium Collection
- Includes the latest health care information from a broad collection of journals, evidence-based resources, and full-text dissertations.
- The database automatically opens to the advanced search. If you want to use the basic search tool, you can click “Health Research Premium Collection” and it will pop up.
- In the basic search you can limit your search to full text articles or peer reviewed articles.
- If you want to use the advanced search, you can search by publication date, publication company, subject headings, source type (i.e., book, magazine, scholarly journal), and language.
- JBI Evidence Based Practice Database
- Includes high quality, relevant, up to date evidence-based information and guidance for health professionals to inform decisions made at the point of care.
- You can search by keywords and limit your search by abstract, full text, review articles, etc.
- If you click the i next to the search bar, the database will give you their tips and tricks for searching.
- MEDLINE
- Contains life sciences and biomedical bibliographic information. Subjects covered include clinical medicine, basic biomedical sciences, the health care system, dentistry, nursing, and clinical psychology.
- Has several different language options including English, Spanish, Romanian, etc.
- You can limit your search to patient age range, clinical queries (i.e., Therapy, Prognosis, Diagnosis, etc.) or by animal (if you are looking for information on animal studies).
- PubMed
- A free resource supporting the search and retrieval of biomedical and life sciences literature.
- If you log in with your St. Edwards Gmail account, you will be able to view your search history which could be helpful if you are doing a research project.
- Search by author, publisher, title, etc.
- In advanced search, use Boolean operators to narrow the search down.
